The MSC Splendida will be touring the Mediterranean this winter season. Currently, the prices for a week onboard are quite attractive. The sailing from Barcelona costs as little as €539 per person in an inside cabin. Prices for a balcony cabin are more attractive, as these sell for only €669 per person.

These prices are per person, based on double occupancy. Onboard, you’ll get all meals for free, as well as coffee, tea, water, and milk in the buffet area. You’re also invited to the captain’s reception with a gala dinner.
These are the cheapest dates for this cruise (prices per person, based on double occupancy):
- February 21 – 28, 2026
- Inside: €539
- Outside: €599
- Balcony: €669
Editor’s Note: Nice price, particularly for a balcony cabin to travel with MSC during the winter. Last December, I cruised on the MSC Musica through the Canary Islands, and I was delighted with the experience, despite it not being a new ship.
Route
This itinerary starts and ends in Barcelona, with stops in Marseille, Genoa, Naples, and Palermo, plus a day in La Goulette, Tunisia. It offers a mix of big Mediterranean cities and smaller historic ports. Highlights include wandering the old streets of Marseille, seeing Genoa’s medieval centre, getting a glimpse of Naples and its surroundings, and experiencing Sicily’s capital, Palermo. The visit to La Goulette adds a North African element, before the ship spends a day at sea on the way back to Barcelona.
Here’s the exact itinerary:
- Day 1: Barcelona (departs at 18:00)
- Day 2: Marseille (9 hours)
- Day 3: Genoa (8 hours)
- Day 4: Naples (7 hours)
- Day 5: Palermo (9 hours)
- Day 6: La Goulette, Tunisia (9 hours)
- Day 7: At sea
- Day 8: Barcelona (arrives at 8:00)
The Ship
You will be onboard the MSC Splendida, which was built in 2009, is 333 m long and can carry up to 3,247 passengers. The cabins are very comfortable and even have a TV. Throughout the luxuriously decorated 18 decks, you’ll find a variety of services, such as a covered pool, many restaurants, and bars. There are also many opportunities to do sports, and children will also have enough places to entertain themselves. For movie lovers, there’s also a 4D cinema.
